I’ve been reading a book lately about the importance of decreeing health over your body.
Especially if you are overweight or generally unhealthy, the author noticed the decreeing the heavenly truth about our bodies and then strengthening that truth with scripture has helped loads of people lose weight and get healthy.
As this is a journey for me, I decided I would collect some Bible verses and start using this as part of my regular routine.
Today, I wanted to share a few of these Bible verse with you so you can pray and decree them over your health.
Jeremiah 30:17
“I will give you back your health and heal your wounds,” says the Lord.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20
“Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.”
Proverbs 16:24
“Kind words are like honey— sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.
Exodus 15:26
“He said, “If you will listen carefully to the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in his sight, obeying his commands and keeping all his decrees, then I will not make you suffer any of the diseases I sent on the Egyptians; for I am the Lord who heals you.”
Romans 12:1
“And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.”
Philippians 4:13
“For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”
1 Corinthians 10:31
“So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”
Proverbs 3:7-8
“Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil. Then you will have healing for your body and strength for your bones.”
Jeremiah 33:6
“Nevertheless, the time will come when I will heal Jerusalem’s wounds and give it prosperity and true peace.”
Proverbs 17:22
“A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.”
Final Thoughts on Scripture for Physical Health
Now, for most of us, we can’t simply decree these Bible verses over our lives and then we will wake up one day feeling healthy and at the right weight.
However, we can pray and decree these bible verses over our Iives as we take the steps to reach that healthy weight or regain the health that God gave to us.
The main purpose for these scriptures is to give you a foundation to renew your mind which will help you think of health over your unhealthy condition right now.
As we renew our minds, we will begin to consider seeing things through a heavenly perspective and take steps toward being more healthy.
And in turn, worship God in our health while being able to do the work he has for us here on earth.
